The Stronghold

She walked by that stronghold each and every day
Praying each time that it would soon go away
The message of hate that it spread in her heart
Was one that she longed to tear apart

It festered inside of her with no relief
It drove her to madness no end too deep
One day she said it will be gone
And on that day I will sing a new song

She walked by that stronghold
It was a new day
But the place where it once stood
Had gone to decay
It no longer was there to remind her of her grief
But the relief of its destruction was only too brief

This hate in my heart, she prayed, Lord why does it remain?
Because my child, your hate does not bear a name
Then where does it reside oh Lord, so I can remove this pain?
One that goes much deeper than any worldly thing
Now lay it at my feed dear child and I will see you through
For I can wash this pain away and make your heart anew.

She walked by that stronghold
It was a new day
But the place where it once stood
Had long gone into decay
It reminded her no longer of pain nor fear nor grief
For her heart was now filled with His love, grace, and peace.

I believe we all have two main choices on how we live our lives. We can live our lives solely pulling inspiration from others or we can live our lives being an inspiration for others. While technically neither are wrong one is much greater than the other.
